Bridal Veil Falls

Bridal Veil Falls is located off of Highway 64, a short drive from Dry Falls in the Nantahala National Forest and Highlands, NC. At one time, travelers were able to drive behind this waterfall, but now it's only accessible by foot. Although this is a smaller cascade, a walk behind this trickling lace-like veil brings a level of closeness. Much like the symbolism of the veil that a groom removes from his bride on their wedding day, there is nothing to separate them now. This is something that we can now experience with God through Jesus. After Jesus yielded his spirit, the veil of the temple was torn in two (Matthew 21:50–51). To think that God would long to be closer to us, instead of putting up more walls, he would tear them down and make a way to us. What an awe-inspiring thought that is, in the smallest of places we can be reminded of God's love!
