Rainbow Falls
Rainbow Falls is named for the rainbow created when the morning sunlight scatters through the misty waterdrops of the 150-foot falls. The hike to the falls is a round trip of just over 3 miles, starting in Gorges State Park and continuing out into the Pisgah National Forest near Sapphire, NC. From the overlook, I was able to capture a faint rainbow during this late-morning hike. I can't help but see these little reminders of God, especially when I am out in nature—these little reminders of God's covenant, faithfulness, promises, and grace. Revelation 4:3 speaks of a rainbow around God's throne, and Revelation 10:1 speaks of a rainbow over his head, and in a small observation, this giant and powerful force of water is falling all behind this colorful bow. At no time does he forget what he has promised, and at this moment, neither do I.
